Cobbler gold prospect

Consolidated Norseman Gold Ltd obtained special all terrain vehicles from Sweden, and traveled out to the middle of the Lake Cowan salt-pan to see what they could find. Several gold deposits were located.

Cobbler is north-west of Norseman, and about 1 kilometre south of where the Coolgardie-Norseman Highway crosses the lake. It is a north-south striking deposit, just east of a small island in the lake, and covered by 5 metres of lake sediment.

It is a broad zone of low to moderate grade gold, associated with an altered host mafic and ultramafic rock. The mineralisation extends for 500 metres in length, and down to 120 metres below the surface.
