The lease was developed by a group of fifteen Maori's around 1894, led by Hohepa (Joe) of Whangamata. When visited in 1894, seven of them were seen hard at work on a reef outcropping 8 feet thick, trending north-east, dipping shallowly east. The workings were described as erratic, in keeping with the inexperience of the team. 15 acres. 0.5 tonnes of ore was sent to Auckland to be tested.

It is reported in 1895, the lease is now named My Daisy by new un-named prospectors. They had dug a trench across the top of the spur revealing a reef 7 feet thick. The lease was in the vicinity of the Phoenix Mine, but its exact location is unknown.
