An U occurrence/mine located in the approximate SE¼ sec. 24, T29N, R9E, G&SRM, 2.9 km (1.8 miles) E of Cameron. This locality is not listed in the USGS MRDS database. The geographic coordinates presented for this locality are approximate to the center of sec. 24.
Mineralization is an U deposit hosted in the basal carbonaceous sandstone of the Petrified Forest Member of the Chinle Formation. Uraninite occurs as very discontinuous and lenticular deposits.
Workings include surface openings comprised of a 40 foot deep open pit.
Production was 1,375 tons of ore @ 0.19% U3O8 (1958-1960).
