Santo Antônio do Salto is a district of Ouro Preto and is 35 kilometers away. It is located at latitude 20º 29' 50" South and longitude 43º 27' 40" West and has an average altitude of 800 meters.

The beauty of the landscape is impressive: an extensive and deep valley leads to the small community. Down there, a beautiful river passes by, which meets countless watercourses, forming several rapids and small falls. Up there, you can see the great Waterfall of Rapel, with more than 200 meters of fall. At the top of this waterfall is the district of Lavras Novas. A place with little infrastructure, but with great tourist potential. Ideal for ecological tours.
