The prehistoric flint mines of the Biebosch are located in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The flint mines are located in the north of the Biebosch slope forest, southeast of Valkenburg, west of Oud-Valkenburg and northeast of Sibbe. Northeast of this place lies the Geuldal with the river Geul and to the west the dry valley Sibbergrubbe ends in the Geuldal. The quarries are located on a cape on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal. At the site, the plateau plunges steeply for several meters.

Approximately 165 meters to the southeast are the Gewandgroeve I and Gewandgroeve II.

On the other side of Valkenburg's city center are the Valkenburg flint mines on the Plenkertstraat.

In the period from 3280 to 2780 BC, during the Neolithic period in the Netherlands, flint mines were mined here, which was established by means of C14 dating of charcoal found.

In 1990, research took place in the Biebosch and an exploitation zone of approximately one and a half kilometers in length was discovered, where traces of flint processing were found, and flint extraction had also taken place in open-pit mining. A "mardel" was also found, an underground mine that is not deep and has a wide shaft.

The excavated flint mine is of the mardel type and consisted of a shaft of approximately five and a half meters by one meter in diameter with a depth of approximately three meters and with a gallery at both ends. These galleries were approximately eight by one and a half meters in area. In one of these galleries a window was found, a passage to another flint mine.

The flint tools found during the excavations were made of Valkenburg flint. The finds mainly concerned mattocks (Kerbschlägel): flint mattocks with notches so that a handle could be attached to them.
