A smelter located on the Nakdong River.

The Seokpo smelter in eastern South Korea started production in 1970.
Following multiple expansions, the smelter became one of the largest zinc production facilities in the world. The Seokpo smelter was built here due to its proximity to what was at that time the largest lead and zinc mine in South Korea, the Yeonhwa mine, which was closed in 1998.
