A former stone (crushed/broken) deposit/quarry located in the SW¼ sec. 3 & in the NW¼ sec. 9, T1S, R3W, MDM, 2.7 km (1.7 miles; 8,800 feet) SW of Orinda. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters. The most recent state publication indicates that the location is in section 3 only. There are 3 quarries shown in the SW¼ sec. 3 on the USGS map, that are probably the workings. The rated capacity of the quarry and plant was 1,200 tons of rock per day. Operated until 1954 for crusher-run base material. Inactive in 1958.

NOTE: None of the USGS MRDS database files present coordinates that correspond to the actual quarry site as depicted on the topo map. The geographic coordinates presented here are taken from the topo map.

Local rocks include Plio-Pleistocene and Pliocene loosely consolidated deposits.

Workings include surface openings comprised of a quarry operation.
