A group of former Au mines located in sec. 35, T26S, R32E, MDM, 0.7 km (0.4 mile) SSW of Keyesville. The property comprises 4 claims. Owned by W. B. Walker, Keyesville, California. Operated by C.B. Kanthier, Los Angeles, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Adjoins the Mammoth group on the W.
Mineralization is hosted in granite. The ore body strikes N40E and dips 70E at a thickness of 0.61 meter. There are 2 parallel veins, the Pennsylvania and the Sunrise, 10 inches (25 cm) to 2 feet (0.61 meter) in thickness. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings. Developments on the Pennsylvania vein consist of an inclined shaft sunk on the vein to a depth of 210 feet.About 300 feet in elevation below the collar of this shaft, a crosscut was driven NW to intersect the Pennsylvania vein at a point 300 feet NE of the shaft. This tunnel has been advanced 850 feet in granite. At an elevation of 80 feet above this tunnel, there is a tunnel driven SW on the Sunshine vein a distance of 800 feet.
Ore milled from the Pennsylvania vein was stated to carry $150 (period values) Au/ton from 20 tons of ore. No specific production record was found.
