A former lode Au mine located in sec. 4, T3S, R16E, MDM, 1.7 km (5,700 feet) WSW of Coulterville, along Maxwell Creek. Operated by Walter J. Lautenschlager, on private (patented) land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This mine was probably worked as part of the Potosi and D. Cook Mines.
Local rocks include Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
