A former placer Au occurrence/mine located in secs. 5, 6, 7 & 18, T21N, R11E, and in sec. 12, T21N, R10E, MDM, 1.3 km (0.8 mile) NW of Rattlesnake Peak (coordinates of record), along the E canyon wall of the East Fork Canyon Creek, on National Forest wilderness land (West Yuba Roadless Area Review & Evaluation (RARE II) Area) (located claim). First produced in 1911. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.
Mineralization is a gold-bearing Tertiary gravel channel deposit. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings apparently included underground openings. All workings were caved in 1982.
