A Mn occurrence located in sec. 8 and/or in the SW¼ sec. 9, T3S, R6E, HM, 1.1 km (3,500 feet) NNW of Zenia, along a tributary of Mud Creek. Discovered 1960. Owned by W. G. Stockton, California (1974). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
The ore body strikes NW and dips nearly vertical at a width of 1.52 meters and a length of 9.14 meters. The ore occurs in patches over an area 200 by 300 feet on a steep mountain slope. The area is broken by faults, and in places, has slumped, but the Mn ore is in place. The largest ore bed is about 30 feet long and 5 feet wide. Stockwork ore is similar to that in the Ladd Mine. Local rocks include rocks of the Franciscan Complex, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Analytical data results: Estimated 20% Mn.
