A former Cr mine located in sec. 14, T38N, R6W, MDM, 3.6 km (2.3 miles) SW of Boulder Peak, on the divide between Crow Creek and Cinnabar Gulch, on National Forest land. First production was 1939. Owned by Emile Chestang, Mt. Shasta, California. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
Mineralization is a Cr deposit The ore body is lens-shaped. The deposit occurs in a large body of peridotite that covers approximately 300 square miles of NE Trinity County. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 1 (Trinity Ophiolite).
