Clinoclase from
Mindingi Mine, Kambove Territory, Haut-Katanga, DR Congo

Locality type:Open-Cast Mine
Classification
Species:Clinoclase
Formula:Cu3(AsO4)(OH)3
Comments:The story about the clinoclase from Mindingi goes that the first specimens where found on a small dump.
That dump was often used as camping ground by the collectors who came to visit the mine.
One day, there was a heavy rain and a not specified collector dug a little trench around his tent to keep it dry. There he found the clinoclase.
No specimens where found in the mine itself so it's a mistery were they where found in the deposit.
Abundance at site:Rare
