Quarry worked for altered silica rich volcanic rocks with up to 97% silica content. Operations closed due to economic reasons and adverse working conditions caused by acidic fumaroles.
Located at the south-eastern rim of Iodake crater, south of Iodake peak.

Description: Sulphur pseudomorph after feldspar phenocrysts in leached and highly silicified rocks. Also in low-temperature fumarole chimneys.

Description: Rock-forming microcrystalline mineral, in white, highly silicified altered rhyolite.
