Reference mainly refers to the Wilberforce Valley on the eastern side of the Main Divide in the Canterbury Province, rather than the Whataroa River in Westland. (Johnstone et. al., 1990)
Second reference mainly refers to the Sealy Range area, south of Mt Cook, also in the Canterbury Province, rather than Westland. (Templeton et. al., 1999).
Mindat map refers to the river, rather than a specific vein location in the area.
Gold-bearing quartz-carbonate veins, hosted in schists.
Located about 20 km NE of Mt Cook village.
Please note Whataroa River is in the Westland Province, while Mt. Cook is in the Canterbury Province.
