"Le Genest: West of Laval on the N157 [currently the D57] until Saint-Berthevin. Turn right onto the D576. At the old 'mines de la Lucette' there is stibnite, sphalerite, gold-bearing arsenopyrite, gold nuggets, pyrite, and quartz." [Belot, 1978]

Antimony and gold mine discovered in 1891, once the property of "Compagnie des mines de La Lucette" near Le Genest, since 1999 in "Le Genest - Saint-Isle" township.

Between 1903 and 1939, 8.3 metric tons of gold have been extracted from antimony mining waste.

Before the discovery of the gold in it, this waste had been used in road construction.

The road from the mine to the Genest train station (1,800 meters long) contained approximately 800,000 French francs of gold (period value)!
