Lava flow in the area of Capo Oncino (Capo Uncino), ESE of the Villa Inglese lava flows. The Oncino lava flow, analogously to the lower flow quarried at Villa Inglese, was attributed by older authors to a presumed effusive event linked to the 1631 eruption. According to more recent authors (Arnò et al., 1987; Rosi et al., 1993) the so-called 1631 lavas are medieval lavas attributable to the AD 968 and 1137 eruptions.

Here, mineral and rock specimens were essentially collected in the 19th century. Presently, the area is densely urbanised and only very little lava outcrops are still visible along the coastline.

Recent analyses on a specimen of "vesbine" with atacamite in the "Vesuvian Collection" of the Mineralogical Museum of the Naples University showed that the so-called "vesbine" fraction, associated with atacamite and gypsum, in this specific case consists of a mixture of mottramite and chrysocolla with tiny starovaite crystals (to ca. 4 μm in length) and minor anglesite (Balassone et al., 2019).
