Deposit contains 0.99 Mt of Zn at an average grade of 1.5 % and 0.41 Mt of Pb at an average grade of 1.9 %, in addition to Cd resources of 639.36 t contained metal at an average grade of 0.0020 % and Ga resources of 161.23 t contained metal at an average grade of 0.0161 %. The Pb–Zn ore bodies in this area are hosted by Lower Triassic dolostone and limestone units.
The sedimentary rocks exposed in the deposit district are Upper Permian (dominated by sandstone) to Lower Triassic (dominated by limestone and sandstone). Two nearly NE–trending folds occurred in the deposit area and two NW–strike faults crosscut the sediments. Furthermore, there are two dioritic intrusions in the deposit district named Hehuashan (HHS) and Dachengshan (DCS), whereas the HHS is located in the northwest and the DCS intrusion is located in the northeast. The lithologies of the HHS and the DCS are diorite and quartz diorite with zircon U–Pb isotopic ages of 133 Ma and 130 Ma, respectively.
