Deposit: The mine is on a series of quartz veins and irregular masses. Quartz veins are less than 1 inch to 6 inches wide and occur mainly in slate irregular masses of quartz are up to 5 feet wide. The principal vein system trends n40-60 degrees E and dips 80 degrees ne, in places parallel to the bedding and in places parallel to the shears or cleavage. Another less prominent system trends n50-60 degrees E and dips 45 degrees se. The veins contain bunches of argentiferous galena and carbonate of lead. Highly irregular masses of quartz; best-producing veins were small. Sample 2835 has visible galena and arsenopyrite in a carbonate-quartz ganle and in white bull quartz. Argentiferous galena and lead carbonates was discovered in the district in 1875. Some silver-lead ore was shipped in 1876. The poker brown mine is developed by trenches, pits, adits, and one 150-ft.
