Commodities (Major) - Copper
Development Status: Past Producer

Little is known of the New Baltic Copper Company. Company reports state that a shaft working a rich lode was being worked until the great strike of 1913 halted production. Work began again in the spring of 1915 and in 1916, a new shaft was being sunk on property jointly owned by New Baltic and the adjacent New Arcadian Copper Company. During the same time, a new hoisting engine, compressor, and boiler house was built. Late in 1916, a large sump pump was installed to control water entering the mine. By 1917, mining was limited because of the outbreak of World War 1. By 1925, all work at the New Baltic was halted.
