Location: This occurrence is at an elevation of about 1,500 feet, about 0.4 mile southwest of the junction of the Sheep River and its principal south tributary. It is in the NE1/4 sec. 9, T. 24 N., R. 2 E., Seward Meridian. The location is accurate to within 1/2 mile.
Geology: This occurrence consists of float of of altered mafic metavolcanic rocks and serpentinite(?). No sulfides are visible (Csejtey and Miller, 1978). Float samples of pyroxenite(?) contain up to 3,000 parts per million chromium, 500 parts per million nickel, 700 parts per million antimony, and 20 parts per million tin (Miller and others, 1978).
Workings: Only limited sampling by the U.S. Geological Survey (Miller and others, 1978).
Alteration: The mafic metavolcanic rocks are altered (Csejtey and Miller, 1978) but the type of alteration is not specified.
