The shaft was in operation until 1935 and was then shut down. Before the coal was transported to the shaft for central processing through the Sainte-Barbe tunnel, it was transported there via the Philippeau tunnel
The Owner was the "Cie. des Mines de Grand Combe". After the end of the 2nd World War, all mines of the company were nationalized
The geo-coordinates indicate the approximate location west of Le Pradel.
