The Mettenberg Quarry I is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Eijsden-Margraten in South Limburg. The quarry is located southeast of Bemelen and east of Sint Antoniusbank in the Bemelerbos on the western slope of the Mettenberg on the edge of the Sibbersloot dry valley. The quarry is located on the western edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Maas Valley. In the area, the plateau plunges steeply for several meters. The quarry is located in the area of Bemelerberg & Schiepersberg.

Just behind the quarry is the Mettenberg Quarry II and about 30 meters to the southeast is the Mettenberg Quarry III.
About 200 meters to the southeast is the Mettenberg quarry IV,
about 800 meters to the southwest is Mettenberg quarry V
and about 300 meters to the north is the Bemelerbos quarry II.

The quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone blocks.

The Mettenberg Quarry I only has one entrance, with a small corridor of 65 meters long behind it.

The entrance to the quarry is closed with bars, so that bats can use the quarry as a roost.

The quarry is located on the grounds of the Limburgs Landschap. In 2016, the quarry was examined for safety and approved.
