The quarry behind Lemmekenskoel is a marl quarry in the Dutch municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul in South Limburg. The underground quarry is located south of Valkenburg on the edge of a slope forest in a valley that flows into the Sibbergrubbe on the northeastern edge of the Margraten Plateau in the transition to the Geuldal.
To the east, on the other side of the Sibbergrubbe, lies the Biebosch. About 140 and 160 meters to the north respectively are the Beckersbergske and Groeve naast Beckersbergske,
about 225 meters to the northeast are the Biebosch quarry (with the Kalkoven Biebosch),
about 300 meters to the east is the Vallenberg quarry in the Biebosch
and approximately 200 meters to the south is the Groeve Lemmekenskoel.
The quarry was mined by block crushers for the extraction of limestone blocks, but the period in which this took place is not known.
The quarry covers an area of 2,069 square meters, but it is unclear how much of the quarry has been carved underground.
The quarries to the north and south are cut into the upper part of the Schiepersberg Limestone and the upper part of the Emael Limestone. The quarry was probably carved into the Emael Limestone or else into the upper part of the Schiepersberg Limestone.
