A placer Au occurrence located in sec. 17, T8N, R11E, MDM, 3.7 km (2.3 miles) W of River Pines, on the divide between the South Fork Consumnes River and Pigeon Creek (7 miles NE of Plymouth). Operated by the Long Bar Gold Dredging Co. Operated in 1941, 1954, 1955 & 1956. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10,000 meters (sic).

Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings included surface dragline dredge operations.
