A reported placer Au occurrence located in the SE¼SE¼ sec. 2, T11N, R8E, MDM, 3.0 km (1.8 miles) W of Pilot Hill and 4.5 km (2.8 miles) ENE of Goose Flat, along Cooper Canyon. Claim was 40 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This may be a claim only, no other evidence of Au.

Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
