A reported placer Au occurrence/claim located in sec. 10 and in the NW¼SW¼ sec. 11, T10N, R11E, MDM, 0.2 km (0.1 mile) S of Motor City. The claim comprises 40 acres. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. This may be the location listed as the "Cowan" in Lindgren (1911).

Local rocks include Tertiary nonmarine rocks, undivided.
