A former Cr occurrence/mine located near the center E½ sec. 5, T11N, R10E, MDM, 3.4 km (2.1 miles) N of Lotus and about 3.35 km NNW of Coloma. Operated by Grover Maxwell. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters. Workings could not be located during 1951 (USGS ?) investigations.
Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains) and/or Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains).
Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 4 quarries and an adit.
Said to have produced and shipped 687 long tons of chromite ore in 1916-1917. Ore was allwegedlyu also shipped in 1918; however, there os no record of the latter shipments.
