A former placer Au occurrence/dredge mine located in sec. 5 & in the SE¼ sec. 6, T12N, R9E, MDM, 1.9 km (1.2 miles) WSW of Big Kennebeck Bar, and about 4 km NNE of Cool, along the Middle Fork American River at Mammoth Bar, on private land. Operated by the Pacific Dredging Co. Operated during the period 1914 to 1918. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.
Local rocks include pre-Cenozoic metasedimentary and metavolcanic rocks undivided.
Workings included surface dredging operations utilizing a floating bucket-line dredge with 7.5 cubic foot buckets.
