A former Au mine located in secs. 3 & 8, T20S, R42E, MDM, 3.5 km (2.2 miles) SW of Lookout City site (1.7 miles SW from the summit of Lookout Mountain), on Bureau of Land Management wilderness land (Argus Range Wilderness). Property consisted of 2 claims. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters. Land is unsurveyed; location projected very questionable.
Mineralization is a vein deposit, with a vein 4 to 6 feet wide, hosted in granite and limestone. The ore body strikes N50W and dips 47SW at a thickness of 1.83 meters. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings. A crosscut was driven 90 feet N to the contact, with a drift 150 feet NW on the vein. A small amount of stoping has been done above this level. At about 200 feet NW of these workings is another tunnel 100 feet in length. The lower tunnel on the Blue Belle vein is about 300 feet in elevation below these workings. This tunnel is driven NW 200 feet ona narrow quartz vein. Near the face of this tunnel is a raise 50 feet in height which connects with another tunnel. There are 5 tunnels varying in length from 50 to 300 feet. A tram line runs from the lower tunnel to the mill, a distance of 500 feet.
