A Cr-Fe occurrence/claim/prospect/mine located in sec. 36, T1S, R14E, MDM, 4.4 km (2.7 miles) W of Moccasin Peak coordinate of record), above the bottom of Reservoir Gulch and NE of it, on private land (located claim). Discovered in 1917 by J. Ruolf, H.E. Egan, and H. Heniker. Owned by J. Ruolf, H.E. Egan, H. Heniker (1976); and by Lee B. Johnson (1941). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.

Mineralization is a Cr deposit comprised of a series of small lenses striking from N50E to N25W and dipping steeply to the E. Local alteration is the complete serpentinization of host rock and carbonitization. The ore body is lenticular in form at 1.52 meters wide and 7.62 meters long. Host rocks are highly sheared locally. The deposit occurs in the easternmost and largest 2 serpentine belts which trend NW-SE across the county. The belt is exposed over an area 30 km by 6 km. Local rocks include ultramafic rocks, chiefly Mesozoic, unit 2 (Western Sierra Nevada and Klamath Mountains).

Workings include surface and underground openings comprised of 3 small pits and a 15 foot deep shaft (1945).

Production information: 35-40 tons of ore were mined in 1918 and remain on the dumps.
