A former Au mine located in sec. 30, T2N, R15E, MDM, 1.8 km (6,000 feet) NE of Sonora on the divide between Woods Creek and Sonora Creek, N of the cemetaries. Claim is 20 acres. MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
NOTE: MRDS database file #10263380 states that this was a placer deposit. That is unlikely unless it was both a lode and placer operation, which is not stated.
Mineralization is a vein deposit. The ore body strikes N and dips 85W. Ore occurs in pockets at intersection of E- and W-crossing dikes with the vein. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 1,400 foot adit on the vein.
