Dimensions: 105 mm x 75 mm x 66 mm

A specimen of pink Rubellite crystal sprays in massive white Albite. I collected this specimen in July 2013. While not a pretty or fine specimen it is a representative specimen to prove the existence of Rubellite at this location.

Poudrette quarry, Mont Saint-Hilaire, La Vallée-du-Richelieu RCM, Montérégie, Québec, Canada

Dimensions: 35 mm x 15 mm x 5 mm

A very interesting and attractive combination specimen consisting of a single terminated striated black AEGIRINE crystal which has small clear NATROLITE crystals to 2 mm attached to it. On the other side of the AEGIRINE is a tabular white MICROCLINE crystal which has a few small pink RHODOCHROSITE crystals attached to one side of it. Stunning and a marvel only nature could produce.

Langis Mine, Casey Township, Cobalt Area, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada

Dimensions: 51 mm x 38 mm x 13 mm

An end piece of massive bronzy metallic NICKELINE which has been sawn on one side and is natural on the other side. Also present with the NICKELINE are small areas of COBALTITE and SAFFLORITE. NICKELINE is copper coloured, SAFFLORITE is tin white, and COBALTITE is silvery. A nice example of this Nickel Arsenide.

R4Q-QV6Wulfenite Pb(MoO4) , Mimetite Pb5(AsO4)3Cl

02330130014947756601238.jpg
Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Oshikoto Region, Namibia

Dimensions: 1 inches x .9 inches x .75 inches

A large single museum quality light brown Wulfenite crystal with small clear Mimetite crystals on matrix from the world famous and now closed Tsumeb Mine, Tsumeb, Namibia. This mine set the standard for many mineral specimens and this is a fine example of that standard. The Wulfenite crystal is lustrous and sparkling, and has sharp edges and complex, stepped surfaces. The small irregularities to the crystals edges are not damage but rather complex crystal growths. Dimensions of the thumbnail are 1" x 7/8" x 3/4", and the Wulfenite crystal is 1" wide by 7/16" high.

Upper Hunza Valley, Hunza District, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan

Dimensions: 45 mm x 23 mm x 20 mm

A doubly terminated Quartz crystal containing Schorl from Hunza, Pakistan. Specimen has a fine pyramidal termination, is very gemmy and the other termination is partially filled with numerous Schorl crystals. There are Schorl crystals on the outside as well. The Quartz shows complex surface crystallisation and is attractive as well as interesting. Acquired from Martin Rosser by Christopher Parkinson after his first trip to Pakistan and Afghanistan in 1982. I Purchase the specimen from Chris in 2013. Difficult to photograph and much better in person. Size 45 x 23 x 20 mm

LAW-7Q1Chrysocolla Cu2-xAlx(H2-xSi2O5)(OH)4·nH2O, x < 1

07991470014965572521212.jpg
Whim Creek Copper Mine, Whim Creek, City of Karratha, Western Australia, Australia

Dimensions: 30 mm x 20 mm x 10 mm

This very unusual pseudomorph is direct from Malachite to Chrysocolla, there appears to be no Azurite to Malachite involved. Christopher Parkinson a friend and fellow mineral collector acquired the specimen as part of a parcel and fell in love with it immediately. It originated in the Whim Well Copper mine,Whim Creek,Western Australia, known for its Malachite,Chrysocolla and Wulfenite specimens as well as a few rare species. It was mined around 1980,when he acquired the specimens from Brian Shelton, a Melbourne collector and dealer. I purchased the specimen from Chris in February 2013. There is an additional point of interest, some very small greyish coloured crystals, perhaps leached Chrysocolla coating or replacing Wulfenite octahedrons.Specimen requires further investigation. Size approx 30 x 20 x 10mm.
