Eroded melaphyre exposures on very small, local farmer fields, (not in use since collapse of communism in Poland).
Old quarry of Permian basaltoids (melaphyres).
In village Rudno new Agate Museum with small shop with local minerals and fossils for sell.
Piekarska E., Gaweł A. (1954) Abstract:
Heulandites occuring in cavities of Rudno melaphyres in association with other alteration products are described by E. Piekarska E. The second author Gaweł A. explains the high potassium content in some heulandites as product of hydrothermal alteration under influence of hot waters with a high K2CO3 content. These solutions dissolved plagioclases and altered them in fine-grained aggregates of potash feldspar. The process is similar to that in Yellowstone Park, as described by Fenner.
