Metasomatic iron deposit, hosted in limestones of the Late Cambrian Fengshan Formation and the Middle Ordovician Majiagou Formation that are locally intruded by sills of gabbro, diorite and lamprophyre. The orebodies are mainly stratiform, but also lenticular, pockets or veined. The deposit minerals are mainly fine-grained, colloid and earthy and occur in masses, honeycombs and stockworks. Alteration is weak and only visible in some of the orebodies.
