Historic gold mine locality from the late 1890's. The first lease is not named in the source, GML 108, 12 acres, containing two reefs called the Lucky Hit Reef, and the northern extension of the Maloney reef. The main shaft was on the south-west corner of the latter.
On the Lucky Hit Reef were two shafts, the deepest to 70 feet. The lease was forfeited at the end of 1897. It subsequently became part of the Kyneton GML 712, 12 acres. This in turn was forfeited in 1899. The northern portion of this lease became part of the King William mine GML 871, forfeited in 1904.
