Tin streaming was undertaken in the upper reaches of the Tresillian River, with extensive but shallow workings stretching between Ladock and Brighton Cross. A necklace made in 1802 from the gold recovered from the alluvial placer tin deposit of Ladock, is on display in the Royal Cornwall Museum. Most of the gold recovered was sand-grain size and rarely larger than "a split pea".
The coordinates are these of the Ladock town center.
