In order to simplify the Cornwall localities, the Dines districts will be phased out of the hierarchy in favour of using a postal address structure, civil parishes will be retained, but the current (2017) boundaries will be applied.

Note:
Cornish localities are ordered by mining districts as outlined by Dines (1956). Those areas are sub-divided by civil parishes (CPs). Other administrative units are not used.
The most productive mining district in the west of England, which also includes some of the longest-lived mines of the region, including Dolcoath, South Crofty and East Pool.

It encompasses the mines on the north side of the Carnmenellis granite and around two small outlying masses, known as Carn Brea and Carn Marth, which are separated from the former by stretches of killas country rock. The mines in the central Carnmenellis area and on its south side belong to the Wendron-Falmouth district.

The mining district includes the civil parishes (CPs) of Carn Brea, Carharrack, Chacewater, Gwennap, Illogan, Kea, Lanner, Redruth, St Day and Truro, as well as most of Camborne and minor parts of Crowan, Kenwyn, St Agnes, Stithians and Wendron.
