A Cu-Pb-Ag-Au mining area located in T.14S., R.7W., in the Growler Mountains and Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Adjoined on the Northeast by the Ajo District.

Mineralization is: (1) Oxidized copper and lead minerals with minor sulfides in small outcrops of fractured and metamorphosed Paleozoic sedimentary formations on or near contacts with Mesozoic intrusive granitic rocks; and (2) Small, spotty, superficial gold occurrences in fracture and fault zones in volcanics.

Workings include one moderate sized mine and several prospects with tunnels, shafts and pits. Some 50 tons of ore containing about 6 tons of copper, 200 oz. of silver and a few oz. of gold were produced sporadically from prior to 1900 to 1949.
