Found in slag from the Dowlais and Cyfartha Ironworks "White Tip", now removed. Identified (XRD) by the National Museum of Wales, Cardiff .

The town was home to the Ivor Iron works, founded in 1759, and which closed in 1987 and later demolished in 1988.
