A former lode Au mine located in sec. 32, T12N, R10E, MDM, 1.7 km (1.1 miles) W of Garden Valley. Operated prior to 1894. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: This mine lies on or very near to the division of the Mother Lode into 2 branches and would appear to be on the northwest branch, just S of the point where the Greenwood District begins.
Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in diorite and serpentinite. The E wall is diorite and the W wall is serpentine. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 2 (Western Sierra Foothills and Western Klamath Mountains) and/or Jurassic marine rocks, unit 1 (Western Sierra Nevada and Western Klamath Mountains).
