A former lode W-Au occurrence/mine located in the SW¼ (estimated) sec. 9 & in sec. 8, T30S, R40E, MDM, 1.6 km (1.0 mile) N of Sidney Peak (coordinates of record) (3¼ miles SW of Randsburg), on Bureau of Land Management administered land. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in amphibolite and schist. The ore body is generally irregular in form, strikes N65-70E and dips steeply S at a width of 0.18 meter. Irregular small masses and crystal in quartz and wall rock. Scheelite penetrates the wall rock several inches. Stringers occur in a zone about ½ mile (0.8 km) long. Local rocks include schist of various types and ages, unit 2 (Southern and West-central California).

Workings include underground openings comprised of several E-driven drift adits from 50 to 240 feet long plus 3 vertical shafts.

Analytical data results: As high as 6% WO3, but mostly 1% WO3.

Production data are found in: Troxel, Bennie Wyatt & P.K. Morton (1962).
