A former lode Au-Pb-Ag-Cu mine located in the center sec. 11, T3S, R17E, MDM, 4.1 km (2.5 miles) W of Texas Hill (coordinates of record), S of Gentry Gulch (½ mile S of Gentry Gulch Road. Location 1 mile SW of Hasloe Mine in sec. 1). Discovered in 1857. Operated 1857-1890's and 1932-1939. Property is partially patented, partially not, of 12.57 acres. Operated by Mrs. Nettie Shimer Hauck et al. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 1,000 meters.
NOTE: The location of this mine would seemingly lie within the eastern limits of the Coulterville District; however, the MRDS file states that it is in the Bagby (Bagby-Mariposa-Mount Bullion-Whitlock) District.
Mineralizaion is a vein deposit with 3 more or less parallel veins, hosted in slate and hornfels (Calaveras Group). The ore body strikes N56-73W at a thickness of 1.52 meters. Cut by several narrow granitic dikes. Local rocks include Paleozoic marine rocks, undivided, unit 4 (Western Sierra Nevada).
Workings include surface and underground openings with a total length of 335.28 meters and an overall depth of 45.72 meters and comprised of 1 shaft with 3 levels. Several shallow shafts or pits on the NW1/3 of the claim. Numerous open cuts over the SE2/3 of the claim.

Original owner recovered gold from high-grade surface ore by crushing the ore in a hand mortar.
