A magnesite occurrence located in sec. 28, T8N, R4W, MDM, 7.9 km (4.9 miles) WSW of Spanish Flat. Operated by the Tulare Mining Co. Among the first magnesite mines to be worked in California. Shipments began in 1891 and continued for 10 years at a rate of over 1,000 tons per year. Idle in 1925.
Workings include an adit, tunnel and drift.
