A former Fe occurrence/mine located in sec. 15, T11N, R12E, SBM, 4.7 km (2.9 miles) NW of Kelso, on the SE tip of the Kelso Mountains, on federal reservation land (Mojave National Preserve/East Mojave National Scenic Area). Unpublished data indicate that this mine is in the S½NW¼ sec. 15. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 10 meters.

Mineralization is hosted in Late Cambrian dolomite. Local rocks include Precambrian rocks, undivided, unit 2 (Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges) and/or Quaternary alluvium and marine deposits.

Workings include surface openings.

Production data are found in: Wright, L.A., et al (1953).
