A Mn occurrence/mine located in the NW¼SW¼ sec. 13, T1S, R6W, MDM, 0.8 km (2,600 feet) N of Fort Baker, on U.S. military reservation and/or state park land (located claim). Allegedly located in Pike County Gulch (opposite side of the county), about 1 mile S of the Union Gulch Mine Co. May be the same as Copper Gulch Mine. May be in sec. 18. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 100 meters. MRDS data regarding this mine's location is apparently somewhat in doubt.
The ore body strikes N70W and dips 67S at a thickness of 2 meters, width of 5 meters, length of 15 meters and depth-to-top of 2 meters. Ore body No. 1 is sedimentary; No. 2 is disseminated and No. 3 is a replacement body. The primary mode of origin was sedimentation and the secondary mode was oxidation. Primary ore control was bedding. There is no wall rock alteration. Local rocks include Mesozoic volcanic rocks, unit 1 (Coast Ranges).
Workings include unspecified surface openings.
Reserve/resource information: There may be an additional 500,000 tons of 1-2% Mn.
