A former lode Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 18, T28S, R33E, MDM, 4.5 km (2.8 miles) ESE of Havilah, along the N canyon wall of Haight Canyon, S of the W end of King Solomons Ridge. The property comprises 100 acres. Owned by the King Solomon Gold Mining Co. Operated by C. E. Benton. MRDS database stated accuracy for this location is 500 meters.

Mineralization is a vein deposit hosted in granite. The ore body strikes NE and dips 60S at a thickness of 1.22 meters. The vein is 3 feet thick. The ore shoot is 300 feet long. Some narrow stringer veins occur to the N of the King Solomon workings. Gangue minerals include quartz, pyrite and arsenopyrite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).

Workings include underground openings with a length of 914.4 meters and an overall depth of 91.44 meters and comprised of a shaft with 3 levels, short drifts and 1 stope. Shallow shafts at 50 to 72 feet deep were sunk on narrow stringer veins.

Production data are found in: Brown, G. Chester (1916a); Tucker, W. Burling & Reid J. Sampson (1933).

20,000 tons of tailings below the mill were reported to carry $2 period values) of Au. 100 sacks of ore that were taken from the stringer veins reportedly carried $100 (period values) per ton of Au.
