Blatterite occurs sporadically in pieces of rich manganosite in the Kittelgruvan mine of the Nordmark orefield, Värmland, Sweden. This material, however, has been dumped there from elsewhere; the Brattforsgruvan mine in the same orefield is the most probable source.
