The famous locality for the "Ocean Jasper" or "orbicular jasper". This is not strictly a jasper but a highly silicified rhyolite or tuff.
Located on the north-east coast of Madagascar near the village of Marovato where orbicular quartz is mined that is polished and/or carved and sold as "Ocean Jasper".
