About Barium-bearing magnetoplumbiteHide

Formula:
(Pb,Mn)(Fe,Mn)12O19
A variety of Magnetoplumbite

First described by Holtstam (1997) as rare microscopic grains (generally ≤0.1 mm) in locally remobilized braunite‐silicate ore from the Mangruvan manganese‐iron deposit Nyberget ore field, Västmanland, Sweden. Microprobe analysis gave the following average composition: Pb0.69Ba0.33(Fe7.58Mn2+ 1.28Mn3+ 1.75 Ti1.17Sb0.06Zn0.05Al0.10)O19. The mineral displays chemical zoning where Pb varies inversely with Ba.
